Setting up a new

Open
Outlook Express. Click tools and then accounts.

Make sure that you are on the tab that says
"mail".

Click "add" and then "mail".

Enter
your name as you would like it to appear when you send an
email.
It is
not a good idea to use your email address here.

Type your email address, exactly as it appears on your setup
paper work.

Type the
incoming and outgoing mail servers for your address.
The
servers should be as follows:
If your
address is @plixtel.com Incoming: mail.plixtel.com Outgoing:
mail.plixtel.com
If your
address is @ultraplix.com Incoming: mail.ultraplix.com
Outgoing: mail.ultraplix.com
If your
address is @plix.com Incoming: mail.plix.com Outgoing:
mail.plix.com
If your
address is @domain.com
Incoming: mail.domain.com Outgoing: mail.domain.com

Enter
your Account logon name.
If your
address is @plixtel.com, @ultraplix.com OR @domain name your account name
is your full email address.
@plix.com users type in only the user
name.
Enter
your password.
Check
remember password if you do not want to have to type it in every time you
check your email.
DO NOT check the box, Log on Using
secure password.

Click Finish.

Next
click properties on the
Internet Accounts window.
(If
checking an existing account only: open Outlook Express,
click
tools > accounts > mail tab, then you will see the window
below.)

The
properties window should appear as below.
Make
sure all information under the general tab is accurate.

Make sure all information under the server tab is
accurate.

Towards the bottom, left corner there is a box: My server requires
authentication. Check it.
To the right,
click the Settings
button.
The following
window appears:
Select Log
on using.
Use same
settings as my incoming mail server
Important: Do
NOT select Log on using 'Secure Password
Authentication'.

On the
connection tab, place a check next to always connect to this account
using.
Dial up
users should place their dial up connection in the
window.
Wireless
users should select Local Area Network.

Security tab settings should appear as
below.

Advanced
should show the default port settings.
Outgoing
mail: 25
Incoming
mail: 110
DO NOT
check the secure connection boxes.
DO NOT
check break apart messages.
DO NOT
check leave a copy of messages on the server,
unless
you understand how the setting works.

Once all settings are correct, Click apply and then
OK.
