Sign up now for workshop on destination-based sales tax
Beginning on
July 1, 2008, businesses that ship or deliver retail goods must
change the way they collect and report sales tax. Currently the
sales tax is based on the location (or origin) of the
transaction; as of July 1, it will be based on the destination
where the product is delivered.
To help
businesses understand and implement this change, the Department
of Revenue is sponsoring a series of workshops in cities across
the state. The workshops focus on three areas:
·
How the change
may affect your business
·
What tools and
services are available to help you make the transition
·
What
assistance may be available to help with your implementation
